BIKE BUILDERS

Some of you emailed me asking about fixed gear parts and resources, so that's why I posted this. AVE the frame builder is a skilled craftsman when it comes to building bike frames, in fact I've seen his work personally and i would even compare it to Japanese frame standards. He's like the Japanese sword smith in Kill Bill, he's underground and just a hand full of bike enthusiast know he exist.

Medy specializes in bike painting and can also make designs on the frame.

You must have a time table if want to order from them because they are hand made. For more info on the builders just email me.

Wow my first sighting of a fixed gear bike in Makati. I took a picture of it just outside of my office inside an open parking lot. I would assume that someone's using this for his daily commute.

rare

I saw this while i was in Eastwood Libis, there's still hope for bike riders here.

test

I replaced my toe clips with the Power grips strap, I'm still testing and getting the hang of it. So far I didn't encounter any problems specially when inserting the toe part of the shoe while my crank is spinning, hopefully it can withstand the wear and tear of a fixed gear ride.

3 stars and a cog

I was thinking of changing my logo, what do you think? email me.

This is my DIY bike lock. It's pretty expensive when you order this online so I went to the old reliable hardware store, bought me 3 feet of chain, and a padlock. For the housing of the chain I used an old gym bag for its water proof lining, brought it to my tailor explained to him what I wanted and he did the rest.
I was biking around Kapitolyo Pasig and decided to reward myself and went to "Charlie's", ordered the usual which is 'black angus' burger, one of the best burgers I tasted since birth. The joint is right beside a car wash you can't miss it.

run

I did not bring my bike to the office today so I went to the gym and finished a 5k workout on the treadmill. I took this photo using my iphone, but the image is so accurate of what I'm seeing during the actual run.

chalk riders

This is a concept device from Contrail which you can attached at the rear part of your frame, covers your wheel with chalk and lets you doodle the road using your bike. More info here.

More pics from the office. These are taken by Tin while I was clearing some clever ideas to my boss Joel.

I finally got to ride my bike to the office, It was nerve wracking but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it on my next ride. I also had bruises on my calf from the pedal and got to reminisce about the 80's when I was still riding and getting injured while doing tricks on my BMX bike. (And yes those are 2 fire hydrants in case my bike goes to spontaneous combustion).

Haha everything is assembled (Transformers SFX please) I'm really happy with the build, just testing the ride around Ortigas last Saturday

My fixed gear frame set (courtesy of Brooklyn Machine Works) finally arrived in Manila. Customs officials made me bleed out some hard earned money, I'm not sure how they got their tax computations but for sure it's all red tape. FUCK YOU custom officials! especially the old lady wearing glasses with a squinting eye problem, just avoid her when you get the chance. I've ordered most of my parts online because bike shops In Metro Manila only cater to mountain bikes.
